Fashion Fridays: 5 Spring Break Beach Vacay Looks + Pro Packing Tips

March 30, 2018

It’s Fashion Friday!  I am heading to Destin next week!  I REFUSE to look at the weather because I am telling myself that it will be GREAT!  Either way, I pack in stages:

Stage 1: Visualize:  I decide the vibe I am going for and then pick out looks in my head (typically while I’m driving, it makes me feel like I am being productive during “down time”)

Stage 2: Select –  I pull pieces from my closet that I might want to wear

Stage 3: Style – I style my looks from head to toe (look, accessories, jewelry) and Yes, I actually try them all on at this stage to ensure that I got it just right (what you visualize doesn’t always work out so it is critical to try them on so you can improvise while you have your full closet at your disposal)

Stage 4: Edit – I have FAR TOO MANY looks at this point so this is when I phone a friend to figure out my level of extra (e.g. I had to CHECK A BAG for a conference in Orlando (3 days!!!) earlier this month . . . I haven’t checked a bag for domestic travel since the early 2000s . . . but I checked in with my girls and they were checking bags too so I knew I was good to go (Yes, I admit that I/we just confirmed each other’s crazy but that’s OK with me because this is my kind of crazy)!

Stage 5: Pack – This is when I typically forget to pack simple things like pajamas and underwear but I‘m learning to do better, but not actually doing better at the same time (I traveled abroad once and forgot to pack hair products, this natural girl made it work as best  she could with hotel conditioner and water!)

So this time I added a step to snap a pic so that I could share my looks with you, so here they go . . .
