Fashion Fridays: Let’s Talk SHOES!!!

February 23, 2018

Hey FASHIONISTAS!!! It’s FASHION FRIDAY!!!! Let’s talk shoe closets/shoe collections/splurges!

I recently remodeled my closet and I’m in love with my new shoe area! It’s a budget version of the shoe closet in the movie Overboard that I’ve wanted MY ENTIRE LIFE (my life is absolutely imitating Goldie Hawn’s art but far more affordably)!!!!  Mine may not move but it does allow me to display my shoes and group them based on season/type.  My objective was to enjoy the time I spend shopping in my closet but it has also yielded the benefit of organization and time.  I am more likely to put my shoes away and it takes far less time to decide which shoes to wear.

Before I remodeled my closet, I had a style consultation.  We found that I had a great clothing closet but my shoes were terribly outdated.  I subsequently went through a huge purge and I’ve been rebuilding ever since so I wanted to share some of my new additions by season/type!!

Spring/Summer Collection

I recently added some new Schutz beauties to the collection (besides I have to fill all these holes, as you can see from the closet photo).  The Sasha Lee comes in several metallic colors, you really cannot go wrong here!  The Natally has a few additional color options, if I was not specifically looking for a black heeled sandal I would have selected the red wine color.

Fall/Winter Collection

I targeted a tall flat boot, a shootie and ankle booties.  I also have a pair of over the knee boots on my wish list (while finalizing this blog the price dropped significantly so they will be added on Monday!!!)

Tall Black Boot: This was a must have and an absolute PAIN to find.  I wanted a quality pair that fit my style (classic with a twist) that I could dress up or down. I tried at least 10 different pairs across several stores until I finally found these!

Black Shootie: If you are a fashionista, you will understand that there are levels to this life (a girl needs OPTIONS)!!  Shooties are great for a night on the town when those casual boots won’t do and the pump just isn’t quite sexy or edgy enough! I stalked these shoes for months until they FINALLY went on sale!!

Cognac Bootie: It’s a great time to buy on sale for this season and the next!  I love Frye products. They can be pricey but they are totally worth it!! When this pair went on sale I had to pull the trigger! They are much lighter than pictured but I love them nonetheless!!

Black Over The Knee Boot: Because I love shoes a tall boot just isn’t enough! An over the knee boot adds a different level of edge to an outfit and it’s my go to for weekends in the fall and winter.

Classic Pumps Collection – The SPLURGE!!!

To spice up my work wear collection, I added some Polka Dots!  I get so many complements when I wear these shoes!  I love to wear them with dresses/skirts with patterns or bold color!
