When I travel, I often start with an inspirational color scheme. It can be based on colors that are on trend at the time or colors that resonate with the imagery I’ve seen of the cities I’m traveling to. I shop my closet for most of my looks or secure new pieces over time for my trip (I’m not typically a last-minute vacation shopper). I start with a signature piece, build out my other looks with a similar/complimentary color scheme and plan from head to toe including jewelry and shoes (Slaycations are an exception! I pack OPTIONS!! It’s also the only time that I check a bag).
- For Budapest, this was simple, metallic/jewel tones (especially Bronze)
- For Santorini, the decision is made for you – white and blue is a MUST!
- For Athens, yellow was my color of choice – I typically don’t wear yellow so this was
Budapest: I purchased an AMAZING bronze off the shoulder maxi dress from Banana Republic last year and once I booked my trip to Budapest I knew this would be my signature look! It is unfortunately no longer available for purchase new but I did find TWO available for resale on Poshmark (Size 6 and XS).

Santorini: I knew this was going to be the R&R leg of my trip so my primary focus was beach attire. I wanted a cover up that could double as a “dress” and my girl Noelle shared the perfect option with me (shout out to great girlfriends that share their fab finds with you!). It was only $16.99 on Amazon (Ladies, you really don’t have to spend a lot of money to look great. I love to mix and match my cheap finds with designer pieces, purchased on SALE)!!!!
Athens: I really wanted a two-piece look for this trip and it was a gap in my closet so I SEARCHED EVERYWHERE for the perfect outfit. I purchased this look in blue and yellow. I figured I would love the blue one and it would be perfect for Santorini but I hardly ever wear yellow and it popped so well against my skin that it was an easy call to make. I’m not sure how well this will hold up, I’m hesitant to wash it (and I can’t justify dry cleaning, or can I???) but it was $15.99 so I won’t be disappointed if it’s a one-time wear piece.
Maxi dresses are so great for travel. They are such an easy way to be glamorous and comfortable. I’ve had this dress FOR YEARS, I found one gently used and several alternatives, mix of new and gently used, that you can buy today: Ted Baker, Asos, Bar iii, Bar iii Ombre
I love clothes with interesting details like embellishments it can really elevate a look. This is one of my favorite pieces with an embellishments. This piece has been in my closet for over 7 years which just goes to show that you really can’t go wrong with you pick classic pieces with a twist (I found a gently used S, M on Poshmark)
Off the shoulder dress + flutter sleeves made this dress a winner for me. The color fit my vision and I knew it would be perfect to watch the sunset in Oia. It’s currently included in Target’s but 1 get one 50% off sale!
This cover-up was great for lounging on the patio and pool side! This color is sold out at the moment but I actually prefer to black and white one anyway.
